come with the stock dunlop 202x55x16. Should i keep the current size but with Pilot Preceda (as recommended by forum kaki) or get a larger size tayar of size 225x50x16". The later is kind of difficult to find. What do you guys/gals think? brand? cost?

can try Yokohama Advan Neova AD07, i used it the previous setup, among the best grip ever, compare to S03, PS.

what is the best price for the 225/50/16 dragon? anyone?
i suppose the above size will fit nicely.

Sorry - don't have price for 225 dragons.

Both 225/50/16 and 205/55/16 are recommended sizes (see your manual). I had 225/50/16s before but when they wore out I shopped for a economical replacement. The 225 do look better as it's wider and will 'hang out' the stock rims a bit. You're right.. size is a rarity that's why I decided to stick back to 205/55/16 (cheaper too) ... now I regret :D

My decision tree (based on cost, cheapest option first)

DON"T DO : cheap 225/50/16 ... maybe RM450+ but very 'basic' tire

DON'T DO : average 205/55/16 ... can get for RM350 or so each but no thrill and ride isn't that stable

DO : higher end 205/55/16 - can get for about RM400 - doesn't look as good as 225 but I wish I did this instead of the above 2nd option

DO : cool tires like JPB recommended on 225/50/16 ... just pay for it... I reckon RM600-800 each?

I got mine for 17" for RM430 each but I think the price could've gone up. I'm been using my current set for almost a year now and it's been consistently great in terms of grip and refinement!

just check with one of those superdoper dealer in Klang. Quote at RM580.00 all in for 225/50/16 dragon.
JP, yours is a super deal man!! dead cheap. where did you get yours?

225 and 205 can fit on same rims? Mine's currently 205/55/16 - need to change soon!

I got it at Lim Tayar TTDI with the tai kor there named Vincent. I did it the same time as Eldrow a.k.a. Drag King. However, they did tell me it was a one-off introductory deal... right timing I guess! :)

He he he Bro Zoggee..thanks for the advise :D .

Or you could try the Yokohama C-drive. I recently stuck them onto the Forester and, wow, they really transform that baby! But of course, that's compared to my previous tyre, Yokohama Geolanders, which are really, really, awful on road.

According to the site, if I switch stock 225/55/16 to 225s, then will have to use 225/50/16?
