Bro, how did you get the oil temp meter to work? Any extra interface you need to add? Thanks.

Oil temp somehow just worked plug and play into my car. This the the early M5 black face cluster 1998-2000. The later ones with grey face I have tried previously in my car and it does not work.

For the RPM lights to work I am adding an external module for it to work..no other way for an I6 engine. For 540i you can just flash a 4.6is ECU for the lights to work, no need any extra module.

A guy in Germany is building my custom module as we speak.

I can install it and code it to your car correctly, but not sure about the rpm lights. Have to do bit more reading about that.

    hey bro,

can I check with you, I had similar accident (damage front headlamp , radiator, cooling tanks, bonet). now in the midst of claiming insurance. my insurer told me I can claim 100% but they will provide recond or Taiwan OEM parts. to have new original parts I would need to pay 30% of total claiming fee my self. well, before the accident my ride have been service with only original parts(at least german OEM parts). question is, can we use this as reason to get insurer to replace with german oem or original parts without needing to pay additional 30% ?

    thanks!

your insurer is correct. you need to pay 30% for new original parts.

Any car over 5 years old is subject to this rule. Its called 'betterment'

Basically what it is, your car is over 5 years old and when they changed to new original parts, your car condition will be better than before you had the accident. Car insurance is based on indemnity only and you cannot gain from it, that is why they are charging you 30% for the betterment.

For me, i opted for used original parts, most of the times they are better that taiwan parts.

When I had the accident, all the rubber hoses, radiator and spare tanks i changed to new original ones which I deal separately and top up the difference directly to the repairer and not the insurer.
