regarding struts and antiroll bars, which brand do you guys go for? what bars are available for e46 coupe?

I'm planning to install the front strut bar as well. The cheapest and reputable one is ultra racing, which cost about 250. For ARB, e46 already come with an ARB but I think is very thin only, I check with ultra racing 21MM ARB for e46 is 500+. I'm thinking of installing the front strut bar and the front bottom strut.

I am quite sceptical about ultra racing bars. I find that some of their bars are quite pointless, as to the mounting points. I am. Looking for a better/reputable brands as to which their products works and not just for mere bling factor.

bro
just for your info ultra racing strut bar (top) parts no : UR-TW2-245 = RM190
(bottom) parts no : UR- LA2-510 = RM190

The price stated was including installation and i just installed it few months ago.

For me strut bars need to be strong enough to do what they're meant to ie. reinforcing the chassis to reduce flex. So a cheap bar is fine as long as it's strong.

As for ARB it really depends on what you want from your car. Having thicker ARB is good for reducing body roll but setting it up too stiff does have it's drawback as well.

Here's some reference to the ARB thickness from different brands. http://www.bimmersclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=263

Personally if you ask me only the front strut and rear strut brace from UR is usable. I think they come out with way too many different bars. More like overkill.

yea, agree with you.

some of the UR bars are more for eye candy than any usage as well. if you look at their lower bars, some of the mounting point doesnt even make sense. some of it actually mounts to the weak points of the cars

so, u think its ok to head for UR front n rear struts?

also, stock car comes with front and rear ARB?

I bought it at my place Seremban bro

aiks.. manyak jauh la.. but my fren told me can buy direct from UR factory, some where in Cheras near ampang hospital. Very cheap... no time to go there yet.. anyway, still think whether to install or not. mine come with M-sport setup but still not satisfy while take sharp corners. How you feel after installing top n bottom bars?

Should be ok for me btw where is your location ? If u did come to Sban i can let u to test drive.

I'm in KL bro.. hardly down south nowadays. Mayb i will install it next month.. now got bigger headache, js got my car for 2 weeks, windscreen kena batu.. haiz. Need to change but still sourcing for the best price, DrCermin quoted me 2.5k ori glass with rain sensor. AB all cannot harap, call no one pickup, got pickup but simply tembak the price. Funniest anser was, I nid to change the sensor as well, as far as i know, the sensor already come attached on the windscreen. Screw them 1 round... then i call Ingress, still below my expectation coz they represent UDM but better then AB.

Opss.. salah topic. Btw, u install top n bottom together? my fren says the bottom one produce more effect then the top one. I'm thinking to get it Foam as well.. dilema la bro.

Yes i installed both top/bottom but u must be cross slowly when cross the high bump. Btw my unit also M-sport setup.
