Where did you guys get your F10 windows tinting done? Any recommendation of where i could get the tinting done in KL/Selangor areas which offer great workmanship? Thanks in advance..

I've tried Llumar (Perdana), V-Kool (E39) and 3M (W211) on my various cars, and I like 3M the best, only thing is abit hard to pass through Smart TAG. My F10 has some Solargard tint installed by the dealer, only front and rear as I did not want anyone screwing with my doorcards.

Thanks for the reply paul..! gr8 info now about the front and back windscreen use of solargard..!! im a newbie here.. :top:

Did you ever consider Huper Optik..? Any info about the product paul..?

Thanks..

i was also a little bit concern about quality of workmanship of tinting company, ie screwing up with the doorcards, electronics or etc..... however these days, i think its better to get our window tinted to avoid being targeted by the bike robbers smashing on our car windows..? .. no?

Do you have any experience or heard of somebody getting their doorcard/electronics screwed up before?

yes. i got my cr-v (don't ask me how i ended up with such a car) powered windows screwed up by the v-kool fellas.

Had the huper optic on my w210, have to say its as good as the vkool elite on my e39. The vkool works well for smart tag but my house security barrier the access card is useless. Have to wind the window. :(

Yeah, I'm looking to tint my car too, can't decide between Vkool, 3M & Huber Optik. The tint shop recommended that I do vkool elite 60 front & back, vkool anti-smash sides with 2nd layer solar gard (since vkool anti-smash is not heat resistant). The 3M folks recommended that I do Crystalline 60 front and back, with 40s on the side together with their unbranded anti-smash 6mil film...Any of your opinions regarding your experience using these brands are highly appreciated!

I read few complaints about V-Kool from previous tinting threads.. slightly turn off now...
Paul said good thing about 3M, adding the security layer is a nice idea, but will it affect the 3M performance??
:motz:

FYI the V-Kool on my E39... front passenger window peeling off already!!! @#($*)@(#

my V-kool too! start to peel off right after the 5 year warranty. now changed to LLumar with 10 years warranty + smart tag friendly. can consider Eco tint too, highly recommended by some forumer, with 10 years warranty also.

Nice... can u post some pictures here..? Your are so brave to let the mechanic dismantle the F10 door panel..!! Did he do a great job..?

Hi RH5
Me double check with the shop first and make sure they have experience on F10 tinted before let them dismantle door panel,as this mechanic is my friend and already have 2 F10 done there,I have nothing to worry abt after I saw them how to handle and dismantle the door panel-:)
Btw,I really don't know how to post picture at here in the forum-:(
Can any bro teach me how to post picture here?
Thanks in advance

Hi, Im new here..
Anyone can let me know the shop in town with the best labour skill for tinted paper. Either M3, Huber or Vkool are alright for me. The BMW sales rep from Ingress Auto introduces me Vkool with the windows black color and anti-smash, but font and back windscreen are a bit light in blue color, looked not that matching?? Cost RM2600, reasonable? I feel if I let them do it in the IA wokshop, at least they will be responsible for my new car just in case anything goes wrong...since I have not collected it...
Someone says why not drive the new car for couples of mth or a year before all those wokshop boys dismantle the windows and make you having uneasy feeling with your new car!!
Someone has some advice? quick one...any good wokshop could recommend in PJ or Cheras? thanks a lot

After reading so much concern about a possible damage to the doors, decided today to tint the front only. After all the glasses have been "treated"to reduce radiation and uv by BMW and got shades some more at the back.Bad experience few years back.the vkool installer broke my speaker cover and conveniently taped it back without informing me.Discovered it when the cover felt off.Why take chances.Surely they say no problem, they can handled eventhough they have never done it before.Your car will become the guinea pig.Same thing with rft, they never refuse the job to take off your tires even when they dont have the equipment.if you let them touch your rfts surely disaster.Don't believe for a minute when they say no problems, they have done it before.be warned.telling from personal experience.

I did mine in Carekool, Puchong. Good wokmanship and service. I even removed the original llumnar (done by Quill) as the workmanship is lousy and not the standard I want.
I did the anti-theft protection on the side windows and then the tint on top of it. Front and back, tint as well. Tag no issue and heat no more. Original window without treatment is really hot so not sure about BMW's claim that they treated it ...blah x3. Overall satisfied, damage....RM2k.
