[QUOTE="mookie, post: 572620, member: 25065"] whistle or vibration from windscreen Moderator: Moderators Write comments 2 posts • Page 1 of 1 whistle or vibration from windscreen by Jules59 » Mon, 24 Oct 2011 23:30:02 UTC Recently had the windscreen replaced and took the car up the motorway for the first time since the repair at the weekend. Every time I reached a certain high speed Id got a loud whistle/vibration which appears to come from the upper windscreen area near the mirror. Initially I thought the windscreen must be leaking air but the sound didnt fade in and out like I'd expect with turbulent air but started and stopped suddenly. Something resonating I thought. I could only liken it to the sound of a piece of card or plastic being placed against a grinding wheel - sudden, loud and shrill. I pressed and pulled bits of trim around the mirror and found pressure on the cable from the window sensor array seemed to stop it. Im not sure if the sound was coming from something inside the sensor array or from something behind the light unit in the roof lining where the cable heads off towards. Any comments ? How do I get the roof light unit down to check behind it - I cant see any screws to undo.
