guys,i am a super super proud owner of the new 328i. its my favourite car to drive. and it decently cheap to run (petrol wise)last weekend. i had a road trip with my family from KL to Malacca. 2 passenger at the back and one shot gun.i would consider myself as a safe and cautious driver (avoid potholes, slows down during a speed bump and etc.)after the trip, back to KL. i noticed that my car whirs when i accelerate. my car is barely 4 months old.:frown::frown::frown::frown:it sounds like a worn disc brake braking sound. i noticed that everytime i accelerate (30km/h to round 90km/h) it makes that sound.i am really really sad, confused and disappointed. help?

on an old car, i'd say the alternator or aircond compressor is about to kaput, or the grounding of your power amplifier is no good. for you, first lets try putting the car on a hoist to see if anything is stuck underneath. if no foreign object is found, you better rush to the nearest authorised service centre.

thanks Mizhan. my SC said that warranty for all F30 is 2 years. but 3 years free maintenance.

a mate of mine got the promo version where he got 5 years free maintenance and 3 years warranty. he just got his car 2 days ago.

Does the sound emanate from your speakers or from elsewhere. You can try to determine if the sound is present with the speakers switched off?

i drove without the radio switched on. as we were all chit chatting in the car. i now need to find time to get the car fixed. because the sound my car now makes sounds like my Kancil back (when braking) when i was learning how to drive.

Does it seem that it is coming from the front of the car? Is the whirring sound a high pitch whir or a lower growl? Just to also ask, have you driven a turbo car before? Could it be the turbo spooling or the air intake sound.

Just take back to SC and let them sort it out. Dun care how or what. Its their problem.

SC said. my rear disc brakes are faulty due to insufficient lubricant.

so new car why this??

Disc should not have lubricant. Perhaps she meant the brake hose delivery?

Do they means the rear differential gear?

My Unser served me almost 200,000 kms. No issues with engine or drive train etc. Only changed battery a couple of times and new dampers ... that was all for 200K usage. Maybe one set of belts only. That is reliability.

i believed most of u owning the 1st BMW here(upgrading from Jp), when later on, u own 2nd then 3rd BMW.......u will get use to visit WS frequently.

BMW gives u good handling n performance but not reliability (not only BMW, but most Conti as compare to JP)

u can ask those owners who have already owned a few BMW b4, to them, a BMW giving trouble is no longer a surprise. if a BMW gives them "trouble free", then it definitely will give them a shock !!

It's so disappointing that this is beginning to be accepted as a norm.

yes exactly !

if u want a worry-free vehicle, then choose TOYOTA or HONDA, what u need to do is just fill up with petrol n drive, every 5k or 10k , change engine oil, thats all !

Another worry free vehicle to own, Porsche. it is almost problem free for 6 years already.
