:listen: actually doc, the problem is not the swirl flap! Yes I agree it has a swirl flap issue but it being made of plastic?? I very much doubt so. Even if it was plastic and broke off, it will easily get ingested and simply disintergrate inside the combustion chamber. The actual problem is the "holder" of the swirl-flap doc. It is made of steel and will scratch/damaged the cylinder block and might even total the engine if we are not lucky. I think I need to see this friend of yours (Head of AfterSale) and have a TT with him someday :4: To make long story short, its not only the car (with its minor glitches) but also the diesel that we put in the tank to run it. Prior to the Euro 2, our diesel was not that good for the BMW as it tends to develop plenty of sludge at the in-take manifold. That doc, is one of the reasons the swirl-flap gets "corroded" and damaged! The newer diesel version has no such worries I was told, just like what you have mention earlier .... I can talk more and share with you guys ("diesel lovers") anytime, of the diesel and its short comings and wht are the do's and dont's in a diesel engine :top: God Willing, I will be at the OTT this Friday. Do come over so we can share some common interest .. :4:...
