Which Alpine Head Unit?

Saw a thread for recommended HU's but can't seem to find it now.Can somebody please redirect me or just tell me which Alpine HU is supposed to be in the above average range?Has to be an Alpine as i hear for 500 bucks i can get it to connect to my ipod, unless anybody has any other suggestions to hook up my ipod.Am not too keen on the way all the Alpine HUs look.....Thanks for all the help.Regards, Ben.

Depends on yr budget and requirement. If got budget (rm2k+), for single CD player I would go for the top range fantom face 7998R.

For Ipod you need to add in the KCA-420i Ipod Interface Adapter for abt rm450.

the Pioneer DEH 5750 also has Ipod capabilities...they're quite value for money headunits with loads of features. only thing i hate about them is the colour doesn't really match with the amber ambience..

That's the F1 you're talking about my brother.. drooling man, lower price the 983 series 2003/04 model is a good bargain. You can try going to the iasca or zth site to see any good used bargain, as some of them really upgrade their HU like cloth man. Saw a 9833 going for 1k+. Might want to consider Clarion (high end version or the exclipse). But I guess you already fix your choice to Alpine.
