I was just wondering when is the first service due? some SA said 10,000KM, some said 25,000KM, some even said wait till the system pop up asking you go service. It's quite confusing! anyone can share the firm one?

I am planning to service my car at 7500km interval. 25000km is too late for a turbo car.
Otherwise, 15,000km is the latest.

25k is late for any cars IMO.. Some hardly drive 25k for a year thats why there was many sludge problems on E90's before..i replace every 10-12k and the alternate one covered by BSRI..

Every 10K is great ... it does not affect warranty at all.

does it mean we need to come out our own pocket $$ without FOC if not follow by the car prompt?

I was told by the SC that F30 service indicator will only alert in every 30k. Which mean only 2 services covered by BSRI. However they advise to send in for service in every 10k interval. At own cost..

Yes ... You gotta pay for those extra ones.

Confused: why not following BMW's advise but others? Isn't the system is designed to take care of the car?? So following the advise of the system (which is designed by BMW) will spoil the car??? ...... confused ....

Its because there is no engine oil that can truly handle a 30K service. There is carbon build up, oil degrades because of the heat etc, acids form. Last time when there is no BSRI etc by manufacturers, they want cars to be serviced every 5K etc. Now that they are picking up the cost (actually, passed on to us) they say can handle 30K services. Many BMW addicts will not dare to wait for 30K. Most keep to about 10K on average. So you cannot trust everything these manufacturers say.

Also, if you are a low mileage user, its been known that waiting for 30K or 1 year is potentially allowing sludge to build up. So not a good idea at all.

This is heart sickening ... so BMW Malaysia is recommending a service interval that is not appropriate for the car they sell because they can save on the BSRI? Is BMW HQ allowing this?

Of course they know. Go to e90post.com and you will see they all change oil at 10K on average. Never the recommended mileage by BMW.

actually, BMW F30 and E90 (at least, that i know of) uses synthetic engine oils.

if your car is using synthetic oils, it should be able to last 20,000km with no problem(s).

servicing earlier for the first one is ok. but after every 20,000km or a year seems fair.

semi-synthetic: 10,000km, 6 months
mineral: 5000km, 3 months

My car is bought from Auto Bavaria, Sg. Besi. As far as I know, each SC will re-program the ECU before delivering to their customers. My car indicates that my next service is at 8000km (which is my first). What does your car's on-board system shows?

Wow.. where u got your figures from? and authorised SC never sells anything less than fully synthetic for as long as I can remember.

Jenny ... SC technical staff tell me dun go with the 20K. They know what the outcome is.

Many E90s cant go 20k without topping up engine oil..so might as well change earlier then top up..yet to discover hows the F30 on oil dissapearing issue..time will tell

Mine show on the meter screen after starting engine next service....24000KM Ogos 2014...RIDICULOUS:stupid:
