Message: <blockquote data-quote="vin" data-source="post: 251273" data-attributes="member: 1847">hi estacado, just speaking from my experience, if you wanna buy an e30, buy one of the latest models which are in good shape to avoid additional body work.  I have a 1984 model and spent a few grand on the body itself due to rust and badly corroded metal.  It didn't look like much at the beginning but once the engine was taken out, there was more damage than what was expected.   There's always a chance that you would want to upgrade the performance of the car, possibly an engine transplant in the future, so starting off with a good base makes for less issues and problems in the future.  Just something to think about....cheers</blockquote>
