twice happened to me: 1. E30 M40B18; coming back from office, i stop to buy some food. After about 20 min. got back into the car and crank it till the battery kaput, car refuse to start. Tow it to the workshop and end up with a dying fuel pump. The pocket damage, new fuel pump, labour and tow. No symptom, no cough no nothing. 2. E36 M43B18. Happened last December. Coming back from JB; once reach Jalan Parliment after approximately 3 and half hour traveling, in the middle of downpour and traffic quite heavy and i stuck in the jam, while idling, suddenly the engine died. Tow it to the workshop. Plug the computer and it was the crank sensor. It cost me RM80 (towing), RM250 for the crank sensor and RM50 for the labour. This also same as above, no symptom, no nothing. I ask the mechanic and he told me that, once the crank sensor kaput, the electrical supply to the fuel pump and ignition coil will be cut off.
