bro
open the door panels and spray water on the window and u will be able to see where the water is dripping out from the door

apply that special black gummy thing to close back those locations

its a common problem in e39

check out the search for "vapor barrier, e39" here ->
http://www.google.com.my/search?hl=en&q="vapor+barrier"+e39&meta=

hmmnnn.. your car is e39, check the windscreen rubbers, door seals..

but most cases, it's the kidney plastic fresh air intake is not secure, the rubber is loose or not seating ...

Bro, r u sure its the carpet that wet not the driver seat:eek:

cabutsssssssss

feisaldzul & pussy,
thks for help..

initialM,
hehehh..usually not my driver seat getting wet..but the passenger seat..:D :D
passenger seat alway the gal seat mah..

BMW7833, Try to check this by yourself:

1. check if you can flip over some of the carpet at passenger side.

2. If can, flip it over and you may see lots of wires there.

3. Ask someone help to use water hose to pour water on your windscreen, check under the dash for any water sipping out.

4. Since you are there, also check on your aircond cooling coil's enclosure, check for any minor crack, holes, or drain hose leaks.

Hope this help..

may i enquire if you have had aftermarket speakers installed in yout door panels?

if yes, then there's your problem right there.

aftermarket speakers have a deeper mounting depth, so the interior panel of the door will have to be cut.
Once cut, the possibility of water dripping from the window sill, down the interior of the door, thru that 'hole' to the car interior side of the interior door panel, down to the door rubber seal, along that grooveline, to the grooveline where the door step-plate and kick panel meets, and onto your carpet.

that's how water got into my car anyway.

bro

if u dont like DIY (just like me), just go to yr friendly neighborhood mechanic and just ask them to rectify the problem

yr car will stink if u keep it wet for too long

Hi bros,

Was cleaning my car recently and found rear left passenger floor carpet was wet. Suspect there is a leak from the door/window. The DIY is rather difficult and wonder whether anyone has found a workshop who can rectify this leak problem. If so, please give me contact details.

Thanks

herbert, just re-seal the door seal will do.

herbert, u can go to ur regular w/shop, they'll know how to open up your door panels and then, inside, there's another layer of cover, remove the cover, clean the side and they can seal it back using those silicone glue, black thick glue. If you can get a piece of dynamat extreme, cut it out and seal the sides of the cover as double protection While it's open, check the drainage holes at the corner bottom of the door, you can take something sharp and poke poke it to clear the drainage. Clean the drainage. Since it's one side of the carpet wet, suggest you do all 4 doors so it doesn't happen anymore (prevention). When one door happens, those will follow suit especially now it's rainy season.
