[QUOTE="Herbert, post: 725697, member: 18029"] I would sometimes equate a car workshop to that of a medical centre. Some GP clinics and specialist consultants have long line patients queuing and patient would say that this doctor is the best whereas some would have a different opinion. Hence one would find that patient seeking a second opinion for more serious or complicate medical condition. Same goes for workshop, some say they are good and some say otherwise and second opinion is always recommended for more complex problems. Some members had pretty bad experiences while some for example bro moots has none and Optimum is his favourite workshop. I am sure many members would have their fair share of comments/complaints about their workshop experiences including that of BMW authorized service centers but most of them would rather choose not talk about it in the forum. It would certainly be good if bro moots could relate Ken Ng's incident to Jason Foo (owner) of Optimum with the view to improve their work ethics and the whatnot complaints. Also Ah Fai's technical competence is questionable and he needs improvement dealing with customer. I personally too had encountered a couple of minor unpleasant experiences with Optimum but the one that "broke the camel back" so to speak was noise caused by one of the two catalytic converters of my e39 m54. Defective catalytic converter was replaced by a used one and it was handled personally by Jason Foo himself. After replacement, another type of noise was found and over a 5 days period, he went on a trial and error basis replacing item after item without resolving the issue and to the extent of wanting to replace the whole gearbox. Took it to another workshop and found it was the wrong catalytic converter (meant for e39 m52) that was the culprit. Replaced with the correct m54 catalytic converter and problem resolved. Optimum charged me for some other minor and consumable items replaced during the trial and error process and I did not want to make a fuss of it but demanded full refund for the wrong catalytic converter.
