TM Net Up to No Good?

Im sure most of us here are on TM Net's streamyx. But did you guys notice on the right hand side bar of your latest Streamyx bill, there's a counter which states the total of data downloaded/uploaded, which mine is stated about 29GB. According to my friends who are studying in Australia, Australia has a similar measure implemented, where if you d/l more than a certain amount of data, ur speed will be capped. For instance, if ur running on 1MBps, it might be capped to 768kbps and so on. Frens from another forum has also confirmed this by saying its a matter of time b4 they do it. But in Australia, you get speeds of 10Mbps. Thats y they can afford to do this. Another thing since the earthquake episode that damaged the subamrine cables last December, I've notice a slowdown in Bit Torrent downloads, most of the times 0kbps downloads. Again according to the frens from another forum, it seems that TM Net is blocking out P2P d/ls. Although they have denied it by the numerous complaint emails that have been sent by my frens. Apparently, TM Net cut off international seeders, thereby if that file has no local seeders, u cant d/l anything! Is anyone else experiencing this? Anyhow i have found a way to work around the bit torrent issue but the if the speed cap thingy really gets implemented, where is our rights when we signed up for the unlimited package? Y is TM Net doing heavy promotion and accepting Streamyx application by the thousands when you cant widen the alredi congested bottleneck? Anybody has any insider news? Pls share your comments.

crap la.. TM NET is under TM, and TM is under the goverment in discreet. Since the goverment controls and defends everything it owns from cars to banks to oils to telecommunications, hence the low price on streamyx with crappy bandwidth along with crappy service.

Jaring/Maxis/other privates are NOT allowed to sell their bandwidth at the same price. It's freaking CONTROLLED..

Yup, even listening to internet radio sucks now, intermittent breaks like an old record skipping... BL&&*! dumb A$#, so much for luring foreign companies to set up shop here in Bolehland with such infrastructure... Oh then again, we seem to have so called first class facilities which are the 'best' in the world innit...

Had some issues with them and couldn't help curse and swear for their inefficiencies. Well TM might think that they are a GLC and so high and mighty, they had better watch out that there doesn't come a day when they need bailing out or being teamed up with a foreign telco..

This is because they are gonna launch the 4mbps soon.
So they make you all frustrated, then they offer you something better......but you have to pay more la!

Anyway, they can monopolize the pricing and your download limits cause the are in control of the "LAST MILE"

yeah, whether they have enough bandwith is another issue altogether.. was contemplating switching to Maxis Wireless broadband once it covers the Bangsar area.. A couple of my buddies seems to be quite happy with their service so far...
4mbps eh... we shall see if it still crawls along...

Wimax is such a farce in Malaysia.. Tender process also need to do twice...

I am using Jaring dial-up service. For a mere RM50 it can last up to 6 months. I use it for reading emails and also taking part in this forum. The connection speed is 31.2K using a 56K modem. So far, I am very satisfied. No congestion. By the way, I can forget about downloading songs.
