The whole godamn chassis was extremely communicative.

If you have never spun on the road, both the driver and the tire must be very good. What tires are you on?

Recently have the experience to find out the difference in tire grip level between my Toyo T1-R and stock Dunlop Sport SP2000 that comes with the car. This is not a fair comparison since the T1-R is 235/35R19 and SP2000 is 205/55R16 but just for disussion.

My rear left was temporarily fitted with SP2000. Took a long sweeping right corner at around 85 km/h. With the weight shifting to the left, I feel my rear left twitching slightly. Last time I remember taking the same corner at 100 km/h without any problem using all four T1-R tires and the T1-R is not on the limit at that speed. Just watch Tokyo Drift and I recognize the tire thread. Think I appreciate my toyos more now.

Will not fit any falken as I had spun once using Falken Ziex 326 at 70 km/h on a wet road. Don't know what happen but was really surprised. Had to do oversteer correction to save the car. It was scary and I was very lucky to save the car.

As you have experienced, do be doubly careful if you are using different tires on each side as the grip level may be different for a left corner compared to a right corner.

Another forumer can testify, using two unequal tires on the rear can be quite damaging.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the advise. The unequal tire size was a temporary thing and I was driving mostly in the city and controlled speed in the highway. Not crazy enough to have spirited drives using my spare tire :lol:

Was a one time thing just to test and feel grip level. Now back to all four same size Toyo T1-R tires.

Btw what kind of damage are we talking about here?

quite risky to have front & rear of different thread especially during cornering in the wet...the front & rear grip level are different..so it is either yr front or rear will give ways suppose one of them hit their limit...
