To all my motorrad friends out there,I know there are a lot of you out there who can relate urself to the topic above.I have been one customer who had been putting up and tolerating to all the stupid remarks and unsatisfactory work by some quarters. At last ,after my last experience with the idiot named nik yesterday,I have decided its enough as my patience has been stretched to the maximum.I am going to make an official complaint to BMW Malaysia and Germany.I hope all u guys out there who have had bad experiences and unsatisfactory services, please come forward and relate your experiences here. This is important in order to improve the service by motorrad workshop as they are providing a very substandard service to us and our bikes.Dont let one or two idiotic mechanics to damage the reputation of our bikes.Make changes.

I guess u are not alone... almost all of us have had bad experience with their substandard services. Each time they are charging exobitant amount of service charge but look at the quality they gave us....

bro, i m making an official complaint and have emailed few letters to the respective departments. However i still need the support of fellow motorraders in order to make some changes here and improve the quality.Just pass the word around and get as many bmw bikers with similar experiences to relate their stories here. That will surely make the difference.

Mac75my, Glad u raised up this matter, otherwise those top people are unaware that their reputation has been tarnised by this.

Actually, we always discussed among ourselves re BMW poor service during our TT. We have no choice but to send our bikes there as they carry 2 years warranty. Some of us even decided to send our bikes to Singapore as their parts are 40% cheaper and their services are much more professional. By the way.... Singapore is not that far.... for the bikers rite?

Hellraiser, my 1st and 2nd service were nightmares. Oil leaked/dripped a few days after done the services. Reason each time was screws untied properly. Luckily my recent 3rd sevice was ok. Can u imagine how much time I have wasted each time I got to resend my bike. To rectify small problems can take hours or even days.... Adios

To forget to tighten a screw is gross neglience. I really hate mechanic who dont take pride in their work.

tot a bike was a much simple job, and they still screw things up..

yes, Mathias must'ed be informed on this matter..

if possible, try to meet up with him...

cheers..

Thanks guys for the feedback.
i had similar experience with Mat Kay,engine oil leak after service.was informed to me by my neigbours in the condo as i was at work, evryone making fun of me,see that fellow spent 100k buying a bike, and now its leaking, better buy a proton car.lots of remarks like that.
excuses by mechanics, reserve oil/faulty seal, all sorts of excuses but none wanted to admit that they forgot to tighten the screw.at least if they could behave more responsible, ill b happy, they were jus not bothered. One of the mechanic said.small problem,u ride the bike to glennmarie and well setle it.Luckily i am staying in kl,if i had gone back home to ipoh, how do i ride to kl knowing that there is a leak.

AND YES PUSSY,bike is a small matter if you are very well trained and very proffesionl in doing the work. But with our guys i doubt if they have these requirements. One fellow will be hanging to his phone while fixing parts.,not going to mention names here.how do expect them to do a good job.they didnt pay 100k to buy a bike.its we,whether they do their work good or bad,end of the month ,they receive their pay.
and yes i did think about going to singapore for service but due to tight schedule at work,i cant really ride to singapore.
So guys ,please pass the word around and call all the motorraders with similar experiences to come forward and join the thread.

BTW, is motorrad the only workshop available for your rides beside going to Sinagapore.

can't these bikes be serviced in any other workshops ...other than Glemarie and singapore ???

Yes for now, there are only 2 authorised service centres in malaysia.one in glennmarie and another one in penang. The engine oil for my bike used to cost 33ringgit per litre last year before the petrol price hike, all of a sudden it went up to 50 ringgit plus per litre and currently still maintains at that rate despite the petrol price drop. For a normal service,we need 4 litres of engine il,which comes to about 200 ringgit plus(it used to cost around 130 ringgit beginning of last year.
Price is one issue, but i dont mind paying the expensive price, provided we are given an efficient service. But over here we get a substandard service.then comes the issues of covers not fixed/forgotten by the mechanic, engine oil screw not tighten properly ,and guess who has to pay the price. We !!We need to waste our time again making another visit to the service centre and get things sorted out again for some stupid mechanics mistake. If it is a service offered by ramasamy motor tepi pokok/ahkou motor shop/ali servis motor,i would not make an issue, but this is an international prestigious brand making all these stupid errors and totally not acceptable.I have been using a proton wira/honda cub and other slightly cheaper vehicles and none had defective seals/water inside the headlight/signal lights. But over here in BMW,i m coming across all these problem. So what is happening here?substandard materials being used by BMW?or substandard sevice by them?

we r asked to fix appoinment before coming in for service. If u r an efficient worker, once appoinment has been made, ull will have enough information on the sevice needed, type of bike n model, and parts needed to be changed. An effiecent service centre will get all the parts needed ready even before the bike comes in.But over here,we r asked to make appoinment, and once the bike is there, the mechanic will call the service counter to order the parts and then he will collect it.Lots of time being wasted there.

Sales, service and customer satisfaction are all factors under consideration of the top BMW Dealers around the country. BMW has long prided itself on its unwavering commitment to customer service, and more specifically, to the kind of service that meets each and every customer's particular needs.

This was taken from the bmw home page.
who are the top BMW Dealers,i need to talk to them.

Low Ya Service @ Motorrad

I have experience the same substandard service by AutoBavaria Motorrad. At one time, i send my bike for service, on the way back engine oil low alarm was blinking. Can you IMAGINE? I have to top up the bugger.

Beamers are wonderful bikes par excellence. Too bad the ones authorized to service and repair them are below par. Shame on you guys! If you are working in my company i would have fired you, long time back.

Go ask around our peers who has had insurance claim matters. You WILL BE SURPRISED how much those guys will have to endure,

I love BMW. I service my car @ Autobavaria. My bike @ Autobavaria. But the substandard of the Motorrad division is making me seriously considering alternatives. Singapore is one. Nearer option is Welly Sg Buloh. Who will loose? BMW Malaysia.

So Autobavaria! Better get those creases ironed up. You are loosing Motorrad customers as we speak. I personally know a fellow biker (real enthusiast) who refuse outfront to own a BMW. Why? He hated having to rely on only Garry and the gang with substandard services. He had one once. At that was the last one, about 7 years ago.

Autobavaria! Do something.

Other place to service Beamers

The one favorited is Welly Sg Buloh. But i have seen Beamers that had been maintained by them. You can say 'so long' to your torx screws. They'll change many to allens if they loose any (and they will loose many). Some beamers got serious electrical problems after they do some modification.
When the alarm goes, the 'all can do' work shop would literally do all they can, except getting the bike right spot on, so you will end up with many parts and component opened up just for the sake of curiosity it seems. To make things worse, after putting the bike together again, something rattles! (My personal experience with my previous beamer).

I do not mean to degrade them. Not the least. Just experience of mine and those i know.

I hate the feeling of being at the mercy, especially of those who are incompetent and yet they are the 'boss' bacause we have no other options.

I wish motorrad got many more service outlets. Or i may just change to Kawasaki GTR1400?

I would propose autobavaria to make a poll/survey to find out just how many bike enthusiast would really want to glue their but on a beamer, yet they have to put it off because:
1. The money they have to fork out (too bad, but quality ain't cheap)
2. They hated the fact that only 2 service centers for beamers.
3. They hated motorrad glenmarie's service.

ANd don't send those questionaires only to beamer riders who flock in Autobavaria, but pass it around in motorclubs.

Autobavaria! I say it again. Do something! Anything! Fire someone! Hire someone! Or you may as well just fire your client and put off potential ones.

If only all the motorraders can come forward and relate their experiences here,it will be great.
This is just to show the big bosses about how dissatisfied many customers are.
At least ,now people will know that i m not just making up any of these stories!!

I heard that story before. That make me last minute switch to Ducati. At lease i queu for sevices my car only and not my bike.
