An accident on one, especially a spinner, can cause a massive chain-reaction pile-up as there's no run-off space. I was almost caught in one driving on a Los Angeles freeway many years ago, when there was a spinner right in front of me, and scores of cars and trucks bearing down on me in my rear-view mirror. Quick illegal lane changing learnt from KL survival driving saved me from being squashed.But gawd, it's impossible! I drove to KLIA again this afternoon sending my visitor off, and did the elevated portion of the highway at regulation 90kmh.
