Hi there, u are right... get the z3 1.9 not too long not too short... 2511 7 527 252 alternatively you can try the 328 or ///M shifter 2511 7 527 247 The rest is item no. 2,7,8,12 x 2, 13, 14 (i think come in a set from 18-20 inclusive), 15 x 2, 16 and 17. Just did it on my M40 for Getrag. Yours looked a bit different tho. You can compare to mine: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E36/Sedan/Europe/316i-M40/RHD/M/1993/july/browse/gearshift/gearbox_shifting_parts/ I bought item 2,7,8,10x4,12. Clip 11 can be reuse so i skip. I also got the Z3 1.9. Good, not too long, not too short. And while your GB is down anyways, might want to consider doing this: http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/classics-e21-e28-e30-e34-etc-etc/37037-transmission-problem-my-e36.html (also did mine recently, now the gear knob spring back to neutral very firmly. previously every morning I had to do a hard knock to get into the 5th gear drain before it become usable.) All the best!
