Should you service a new car before its 10k km is due?
There is a lot of discussion on whether or not the new cars require special treatment during the breaking-in period....that the engines are already run-in at factory etc VERSUS the belief that moving parts in the engine are still new and haven't worn into themselves just yet. Or even the other belief on whether a car should be allowed to sit and idle for a minute or two after starting the engine in the morning... instead of driving off straight away because some say it's necessary to allow the engine oil in the car time to cover everything as it heats up. I'm not terribly sure as to which is better but I'd rather err on the side of caution........ spare-parts cost more than servicings. I checked with some of the members on the forum in another thread and after reading what some had to say, had my car serviced when it was about 6000km. It'll go in again for the BSRI service at 10000 km.
