Once you remove the battery, it is safe to work on the car. Should you accidentally short somethings, you don't end up with the airbar blown in your face. (Not that it would). or having the SRS alarm registered if the cable is accidentally disconnect from the airbag.. I think taking the precaution of removing the battery terminals is a safe bet.. Whether you want to disconnect the airbag cable from the steering wheel solely depend on you because there is no power to the monitoring system.</blockquote>
