I run 18" RFT on my car and have previously used both Dunlop Sportmaxx and Continental CSC3. I'm wondering if any forum members have any opinions on which is their preferred RFT and why. I'm due to change my CSC3 now and am contemplating going back to the original Dunlops because some website reviews have given those rubbers a better performance rating than the CSC3.

My finding is that the CSC3 last longer than the Dunlops but has less grip.

Any opinions?

Hi, csc3 is more of a mid level of the conti range. Its still more geared towards comfort. Csc5 range would be more better suited to compare

The CSC5 is a wonderful tyre. Love it.

My car came with the Dunlops. I changed them to CSC3 once the Dunlops started peeling and cracking near the sidewall (had done only 20k km/1.5 years at the time - crap). Personally think the CSC3 is a much better tyre. Comfort more or less the same with Dunlop, but wet grip much much better. Aquaplaned a few times with the Dunlops, was hella scary. Been on CSC3 for a 7k km/1 year now - still a happy customer. Not many choices available in Penang, so I went with CSC3. Hope this helps.

I ditched my run flatat and went with Michelin pilot super sports 19". Just cant live with the runflat. Bought a spare tyre kit as well. So much more comfortable.

It seems according to my regular tyre place, he told me that both the Conti and the Dunlop offer almost the same performance, and price, just that the Dunlops are a bit more difficult to stock sometimes, compared to Conti. Didn't ask which model of Conti would it be, but based on the current SP SPORT MAXX GT that came from the factory, after 25k and 2 years, it's like semislick tyres!

Probably going for Conti this time around instead of going back to Dunlops again. Heard good reviews for the Conti RFTs, according to a friend who had a Passat CC fitted with Conti RFTs, the ContiSeal tech is pretty good too, few nails in his when he changed it (Singapore unit, eventually sold off after the DSG died).

Heard Ingress Auto is offering some tyre discounts until December 2014, but not sure what's the deal.
