Power not cheap, u know .. esp old car ... :D

For us is quite useless, it's aimed for the national car. For example, for 1000cc and below, they are only payhing 30 now, 10 reduction is 22% reduction, might as well ask them no need to pay. For 328, they are paying 1600, what difference does it make on the 20 redction?

dun think gov can be so nice to us wan lerrr.... takes 2 hands to clap.... one hand out... where's the other....((sure kena tampar wan when it shows itself!))

The government will incur revenue loss of 250Million due to this exercise. I would rather the gov dont reduce this but instead channel the 250 million for other purposes of development such as improving those dilapidated schools, hospitals, etc etc. Nothing to shout about. What are they thinking anyway.

Yes, I totally agree. The main target is actually below 1000cc car and you know why.

The gov is creating an illusion that they are helping the people but in fact they are not. I can smell election too.....

Seconded. You have a point there bro...:)

i think najib is the biggest joke for 2006 on his announcement of the reduction of RM15 on the road tax for my car.... and he thinks he is doing us a favour in relation to the increase in toll rates.

i rather take an increase of RM15 on my road tax any day!....

this politicians should keep their mouths' shut so they won't sound so stupid....

damn to those 'politicians boleh' in this bolehland of ours...

pls don't brand me for being unpatriotic because i am not.... is just that our so call policy makers most of the time talk a lot of shit and expect us to swallow word for word.

cheers

So, what's the new road tax rate for 2494cc? It was RM889. I believe it will be around RM870-880. Not much of a difference.

My other car (Satria 1.6) went from RM254 a couple of years ago to RM127 and now with the latest news, it's RM90, that's RM37 off.

Haiya, the alleged RM 250M is already available from the drop in oil prices (hence subsidy) since it increased dramatically the last time round. So shuffling money only. Its amazing how the government makes a big deal out of such a small reduction in payment. The system we have here is very archaic anyway - still based on engine size.

But its for the election masses I guess. Sigh.
