Hi all,I've finally gotten around to posting an intro after having lurked and posted quite a few times.I'm Sanjay, working and living in KL, and just back home after many, many, many years abroad (and a good many of them living with easy and regular access to autobahns )My BMW history is in my sig below. Before that, it was a spattering of Rovers (including a lovely 1976 Rover P6 2200TC) and Saabs.Been a longtime member of www.5series.net (same username as here) and responsible for organising a good number of the European meets. Looking forward to an equially active and fruitful membership here.

Hi Sanjay.. welcome!

How's the relative driving pleasure of the 528i vs 530d?

Thanks guys!

@ _M_: Given the way it is/has to be driven in and around KL, the 528i has been great (with the exception of the fact that I used to get 800 or so km per tank in the 530d but struggle to get 400 in the 528, but that's also down to KL traffic). The twin-scroll turbo is a peach, delivering torque in almost diesel fashion, and the relative silence of the 4-banger almost makes up for the absence of the lovely 6-pot diesel growl.

BMW have done a great job with the 2.0 lump as well - it actually sounds good when you push it. I was preparing to be disappointed after hearing the Mercedes 1.8 in the E250 which, to be honest, sounds cheap. Still not as good as the diesel 6 thrumming over at 1,100rpm at 120 km/h, but good enough.

I must also say that the cabin of the F10 is a leap ahead of the E60's so, all in all, I'm a very happy puppy.
