My mechanic have done it before but most will just replace it as it requires more effort to repair it.New unit cost RM750 (E46N42) w/o installation and you may want to change your cam cover gasket(RM220) since  it has to be opened as well. Installation cost....depends on where you go. Refurbished will probably cost you half of the new unit.One thing is, the vacuum pump has very solid built, it is just the o-ring and gasket that will fail especially in our weather.</blockquote>
