Ah yess they can be repaired, I've done them on two of my fan clutches sachs and behr. Sachs fan clutch if you remove the silicon at the centre of the plate has a small allen key screw which can be adjusted.

No, you still need the silicone oil if the fan clutch is dry. Adjusting is only on SACHS fan clutch because it has a allen key screw at the center of the bimetallic strip, but on the Behr's if u want to make it adjustable, drill a small hole like the and put a very small screw there for adjustment. To secure it paste white silicon around the screw so u can still adjust the fan clutch on the engine while of course engine off ehhehee.

based on the pic, it look like the fan cluth is a fluid coupling with a thermostat. If it a fluid coupling, I am not sure it is advisable to fill it with too much fluid or until to the top coz it need the air pocket to control the speed of the coupling.

any specialist around.

Jarance : Can u clarify abit more , bit blurr on this

Cheers

Jarance ,

I dig again more to look for this fluid couple clutch principle

Thanks

the bi-metal piece can actually be manipulated to make the fan clutch spin faster......Unker, you are spot on about the pressure release as the air pocket needs to be calculate according to mass of the liquid, my guess.......

i did a mod on my clutch, it keeps the temp 1/4 all the time

very very interesting ! but did you suffer fuel economy at low speed ?

Had a little dig and found the oil need to be thick, actually silicone base oil where it get thicker when temp goes up.
