Hi,

I would like to get some advise from the forumer here.. i am thinking of get a E92 335i coupe with manufacture year 2007 or 2008 but wonder about the reliability and maintenance of E92 335i.

My question

- The car is reliable?
- In case any thing happen i can source the part ? used part also acceptable.
- Cost of normal maintenance like service and changing wear and tear part.
- E92 335i is it worth to own ? as the spec of this car more on performance car near to M3 but lower grade than M3.

If i success to own this E92 this will be my first continental car and plan to own this for at least 6 to 7 year times

Tq tq.. :)

doc.....elaborate further la.....was next to u with ur new GT wings last month..... u didnt even looked at me.......

For stomrider80, basically from mai limited NOLEJ of the n54...:

(i) Is it reliable...hell no, like any other bmw hehe...
- get ready for hpfp problem, underboost and overboost problems....etc etc

(ii) Source for parts....no problem, parts are everywhere in Malaysia and Singapore....but make sure u dont kena chop by workshop...
research for best price....just pay only...
hint: Parts from SG are cheaper
(iii) Costs of maintenance...same like other BMWs lo....oil change every 8 to 10k km...about 7.5 litre of oil...5k km if u kiasi...
gearbox oil change every 60k km should suffice...oil and bedpan
other parts.....as per usage...
(iv) Is it worth to own? I think so... toyota camry/honda civic price for such high importance car....y not? But its still not an M car...
sad case......

Can we get it online and ship it to Malaysia? If yes can you recommend websites/forums where we can browse or ask for parts. Or do you normally get when you are in Singapore.

U could order online also and shipped to Malaysia, but if not mistaken it will be more ex (shipping costs) than say if u were to ship
to Sg... or another way is just to get them from Eng Soon at Sg...they have literally all OEM parts from all sorts of car marques...
U can compare prices

Cheers...

Thanks for the feedback ... wah seems like 335i have a lot of hidden issue or unexpected issue .. as for E92 model until 2016 almost have 8 or 9 years old and mostly had clock 100k km on the mileage.... i scare with this 3xx horses engine will give me some heart attack surprise.. initially i was thinking high spec engine normally make it more durable or less problem as it perform better than the other model in same range.. if it got over boost or under boost issue emm... this make me think twice about 335i already .. if it go for normal maintenance it still acceptable for bimmer.... as i also get some info about the twin turbo kong it really cost a bomb to replace that....

Basically there's no two ways about it...highly capable cars come with stricter maintenance, TLC and more diligence if wat not to keep
it running healthily
but IMHO....for the current price of the 335i E9x series per performance capabilities.....nothing comes close to it I can guarantee it....

depends on wat u want, as an enthusiastic driver who dont mind fiddling here n there or just want a peace of mind, dont really want to bother
much about the car type of person....then u can consider new cars lol, all with warrantties etc...mind you...new BMW cars also doesnt guarantee u
100% problem free anyway....hehe

stormrider80..... rattlesnake is the type of driver who's very.....how do u put it.......performance oriented kind-of driver (like driving a bit laju until dont notice friend is in the next car.....) hence, he tends to push the car to its limits a lot, resulting in those issues he mentioned before. so his style of driving.... or passion will put him in a position where every mechanical/electronic issues has to be sorted out so the car is always ready to go. religiously.

but if u drive just to get from point A to point B, no drive fast fast one........ normal maintenance wld do.

yes..... passion n performance do come with a price.

if u r looking for cheaper maintenance, then the perhaps u shld consider ur options

Dont buy la...for a 10 year old car...bmw some more...sure not reliable...if mod mod or drive fast fast even worse sure faster kaput...cabutttzzzz

Unless u're a doctor earning salary in SG dollars then all this is small to him :D

eh...some new F30 oso i heard manyak problem weh.....some mai friends at Sg also
kao pei kao bu...hehe.....steering kok kok sound la.....battery issues la.....drivetrain issues la.....
hehe

of then there is also misfiring issues as well...super common but part of wear n tear la
Rattlesnake agree with what u say higher performance car it come with higher stricter maintenance.... maybe i can consider the used bimmer which is still under warranty at least i still can get some issue covered.. if alternate choice for 335i i am thinking 325i for e92 model still acceptable for me at least it still NA and it prevent the boosting and turbo kaput issue... haahah..

Gendong i am point A to point B driver.. and once a while at mid night and no car condition will drive fast a bit to clean and burn the engine carbon. ahahah.. then 325i e92 model this maintenance will cheaper than 335i e92 ??
