My story...9 years ago upon my return from London I was "wrongfully" arrested at the Subang airport. I was not advised on why I was arrested. I insisted to the OCS that I will have to make a phone call on my mobile to my friend at Bukit Aman. After the OCS heard my friend's name, he cooperated. Unfortunately as it was during Hari Raya and just past midnight, I was not able to get hold of my friend. However, the OCS, having learnt that I have such a friend decided to play safe and contact Bkt Aman to verify the arrest and guest what.......the guy at Aman could not verify as there is no record!!!! The OCS apologised and saying that he has do do his duty, I had to be handcuffed and taken to IPD PJ! He thought he was doing me a favour by allowing me to be handcuffed with my hands in front instead of being at the back and he made sure the cuffs were not tight. I spent the night at in the cell and early next morning, some officer form aman came for me..took me out of the cell..went to collect my personal stuff and told me to forget the whole thing like "mimpi' only....asked me whether I wanted "makan pagi" to which I replied negative and offered to send me home. Whilst dropping me off at my home, reminded me to forget the episode...gave me his name and contact number and insist I call him should I need any assistance in future. About 3 days later, got call on my mobile..somebody from Aman..apologise for the wrongful arrest and my reply "no problem...I live in Malaysia and I can expect such screw-up!" Few days later, the OCS call my mobile, insiting that because of his follow up in making the call to my friend, they reliased the mistake and immediately released me. Otherwise, possible another few days in the cell. After that, numerous calls from OCS wanting to borrow money!!! What rights????? Not informed of reason of arrest Strip search at the balai Slept on the floor Cannot locate my shoes when I "checked out" Malaysia boleh...apa apa pun boleh!!!
