Phone SIM Card problem solved I've finally managed to solve the problem! :) (after going through tons of forums) Just to recap, for those that might not have read this whole thread... Problem When I put my SIM card (Maxis) into the reader slot under the phone handset in the car, I get a message saying "Check Card". It appears that the SIM reader under the phone only works for very old SIM cards. Solution On the left hand side of the boot, there is a device which operates the phone. 1) Open the CD Changer box on the left side of the boot. 2) Above the CD Changer, hanging from the top of the boot, you will see another device. It looks a bit like a CD ROM Drive. 3) Shine a light between this box and the rear lights. You will see a slot. 4) You need to have a full SIM card, not just the chip. If you don't, you will have to get an adapter or get your phone company to replace it for you. Slide in your SIM card with the chip facing down. Your phone should now work! I'm using a post-paid Maxis card, not the new 3G chip card but one generation back. I'm not sure if it will work with the new 3G SIM. If you are a Maxis post-paid customer, you can get a supplementary line for just RM10 a month. Hope this helps.
