Message: <blockquote data-quote="ersalle" data-source="post: 68978" data-attributes="member: 363">Ok here's what happen to my M40 engine, previously i also keep topping up coolant/water every week.The culprits are as follows:Check for small leaks at the black plastic pipe going into the engine block. This black plastic pipe is just behind the oil filter housing and has an O-ring inside. When the engine is cold and after a starting there will be coolant seep, keep a look out at this particular place. Sometimes after parking overnite u can see coolant puddles below there. The leak will stop once the engine is warm, remedy to this either u change the O ring or be like me remove the pipe, cleaned it and paste high temperature silicon banyak2 and fit it back hehehehe. Another place also during engine start from cold is between the expansion tank and radiator gap, coolant would also seep out between the gaps as the radiator pressurises. Remedy pour one bottle of coolant stop leak (wynn's or others) into the top radiator hose inlet, but still got some seepage because i was using castrol coolant.So far now no coolant loss after fixing those 2 and last week i flushed the radiator and pour in ori BMW coolants. I also notice that using original BMW coolants(blue color) the seeping at cold start was totally gone at the radiator/expansion tank gaps.PS: Provided u'r head gasket no leak/water pump is not about to give way/hose not loose or cracks /radiator in good condition hehehehehGOOD LUCK</blockquote>
