This is an unhappy thread.I was recommended by a forumer to BMWorks last Saturday. Initially plan to do in WP Auto, but Albert’ workshop was full with car, so turn to the BMWorks. Was reach BMWorks on 12pm. 2 cars there and Vasu was busy with an e38. Parked my car and asked Vasu to change the absorbers and swing link support [I bring my own stuffs]. Asked if he allows me to bring my own parts, he said because of the ppl who recommended me, it’s ok. So go ahead the process. When they changing my absorber, I told to an indian worker that my ABS blink up sometime, the worker said he able to tape the wire for me to secure the sensor. I agree to let the worker to do so_Outcome:1. Finished the work on 7pm! Yes, 7 hours! Tested the car for three times to resolved klok-klok sound in rear side..Damnn, the top mounting screws didn’t tighten up! Took out the rear seat and everthing again to tighten the screws.2. ABS light stays on [when I send in my car, there is not problem for ABS light]. End up changing a brand new sensor.3. C-pillar clip gone and the pillars are damnn dirty! I told to them before that I just replaced the pillars last two months and asked them to be careful but the idiot still mess up my C-pillar. End up parting out myself at house today to wipe with cleanser.4. There have some drop in my C-pillar and rear seat when Vasu tried to glue back the pillar clip with some yellow glue. He gave up to glue back the clip and asked me to do my own, he said already too late. :stupid:Since the time they finished my car already 7pm, Vasu asked me to go to tyre shop to adjust the absorber. WTF! I send in the car here and he asked me to adjust the absorber in other place? I said no and insist him to do for me on the next working day. I paid the labor before I left. Guess what, the total is RM430 [just labor exclude parts]! Phewww! It was my bad as I never asked the labor at the 1st point.Since the next day was Sunday no office, I stay one more day in KL purposely to let Vasu to adjust the absorber. Went back to BMWorks on Monday morning and asked Vasu to settle everything for me. This time Vasu and the malay chap start showing the ugly face to me! He said I suppose to do in tyre shop on Sunday, not here! I just let it be and said ok [I can not tahan their ugly face anymore and I believe they will mess up my set up even they do for me in unwilling mode]. Before I left the workshop, the ABS light on again. This time even more interesting, Vasu tested drive my car for few minutes, crank and off the engine few times, stare at the light few minutes. Weird, may be he wished the ABS light off just like that..LOL..He seems like he faced a big problem on the ABS light..He took out the Carsoft and tried to erase and erase the error code but the light still there. Finally, u guess what he said..He asked me to come back the next day! Idiot! He said he will bring another diagnostic tool on the next day. I look at him and smile, then left the idiot workshop. :thefinger:-End-

Solved everything in WP Auto yesterday..

bmw7833, I am sorry to hear that... Understand the frus...
There are so many good workshop around, try them.

U still in Ipoh time to time?

hahah...good to hear that...i sent my e34 last friday for engine oil and ATF oil change. sent again this morning to repair some oil leakages...will take the car tomorrow...

albert and his mechanics are knowledgeable and if you ask them, they are more than willing to explain what's wrong and how the parts work...and whichever parts can use OEM, then they will tell you so. so far so good experience...

does WP Auto allow you to bring your own parts?

I'm looking for a new place to bring our bmws as I got screwed over by a workshop that has been taking care of our bmws for more than 8 years.
Can't trust anyone nowadays.

I thought this Vasu fella was quite highly recommended by some forumners here. Personally I have never been there but hearing what you shared, scary.

i've just been there for the 2nd time in 5 days...haha...first time i brought engine oil and filter, that's all...

today i sent for engine leak repair...all the parts are taken care by him...think his prices are fair.

maybe you could give albert a call tomorrow morning...012-2017792.

I am not sure, may be he is good for other.

frankly, i believe any mechanic would screw up at one point...the most important is that they sincerely admit wrong and rectify the error as soon as possible...then, i believe i can still trust them for future repairs...

if they are reluctant, then there goes my business to another mechanic...

Shit!...that is so F***ed UP man! I can only imagine the agony you've gone through having to wait 7 hours to get the abs replaced just to find out later that there's more issues thereafter....

reminds me of the time i asked to diagnose cause of abs light, the light was just shut off by the mech but my tyres still lock up...

Maybe he just removed your instrument cluster and unplugged the bulb at the back...

You took in to BMWorks as well?

bmw7833,
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I'm a regular at Vasu's BM Works for the last 4 years. Reasonable charges and able to resolve all the mechanical issues of my E39 todate. One word to describe my experience is "Happy" to be there and Vasu is a patience person!

I'm not trying to defend him over your weekend 'drama' but I have changed 4 absorbers there before and did not encounter any issues or any follow-up! For E39, changing absorbers was rather a "massive job" which could take up to 5 hours+ as the rear seat, c-pillars, rear parcel shelf needed to be dismantled.
Yes, after everything was done, I need to do the wheels alignment separately. Not sure what he meant by asking you to go to tyre shop "to do the absorbers".

Again, sorry to hear about your misfortune!

Hope all is well now!
