IMHO it looks crappy. Aint got no shape. No heritage marks form our beloved Plotong as usual. Looks made in China quality. No offence but its crap.

Like what my favourite Starship Captain like to say below............

ok lah..for 30k can do lah

hope the safety features upgraded

This is the new Saga... still in disguise with lotsa black tape.

I think the BLM (baseline model) is to replace the 22-year old Proton Saga, that is why the TV advert says something about "a new Saga begins". This is a B-segment car, so it should not be competing with Persona which is placed in the lower C-segment.

Following current automotive trend, all B-segment cars now look damn funny, I believe they are bounded by certain external dimension, so, in order to maximise interior space they start to "grow" taller, and they pushed the passenger compartment right to the physical limit, and most manufacturers end up with cars looking a bit squashed, and the sedans will end up with ugly backsides... other examples of B-segment sedans: City, Vios, Latio, Accent, etc.

Well, just a thought here, could this BLM be a Savvy with a tail? Aarrgghh...

Thanks for the insight! I think the Savvy is one of Proton's best cars. Too bad it got walloped by the MyVi which is also very good for the price. It's nice that our national cars are getting better but Proton has to seriously improve their interior quality to stay afloat and in the game!

Come on guys, its not too bad. What do u expect for 30k to 40k car? For me at least Proton hv made improvement although its still long way to go. Sumore its fuel efficient oso at bout 12.5 cent/km. With all the packages its almost half the price of Vios or City. Only thing that public mite concern on the QC issues. Again brand new BMW oso not perfect. At least lower income Malaysian could afford a decent brand new car.

for below 40K, it's a seller... Of cos, we are not their target as we would prefer a used BMW at that price rather than the new saga.... It's for the mass market...

Seems like Proton is trying really hard to turn things around... They should have started doing that long time ago..

juan,

If the savvy is one of Proton's best cars the I really woryy about what their worst car is. My cousin bought one and so far it has been back to the workshop constantly. AMT shift quality deteriorates over time, uneven idling, engine dies by itself, throttle doesn't work.... etc. I'm sure it has a problem with the electronic throttle and AMT system. But other than that, I would agree that it looks unique and the AMT seemed like a good idea and USP at that point in time. If Proton can sort out the problems its really not too bad.

i love the BLM,

if i'm a college student / father about to buy first car for myself / son / daughter, the new Saga would be the best! its economical, cheap to maintain and sits many. its also cheap and cheery. front very VW like, rear very c-class like. i think its a good car all in all.

like many of you, i'm also "patriotic". i support Proton all the way. support only la. i dont buy. hehe. i think its a good car. looks and performance, thou i've yet to drive one... but i think its a good take off. just seemingly appropriate with the tag line "a new saga begins", not just to the car... but the entire proton production as well.

I can say that the front is more like Nissan Camry JR and the rear is nevertherless like Mercedes C-class . Luckily they had just launch a new C Series in MY.
