Please help on E28 528i

Hello, I am new to this forum. I am interested to buy a E28 528i (small bumper).How much it costs recently?What should I look at?I am from Kedah and mostly have to get this car from KL as it is very hard to find in my place, so a bit worry if have to drive for long distance.

It all depends on what condition E28 you are after and how much of a perfectionist you are. Basically you get what you pay for.

You can prolly find examples for less than 10k but most likely you will have to spend $$$ depending on how original and comprehensive the restoration is going to be.

Am not aware of any "done up" E28's for sale, but I expect owners of these E28s to have much > than 15k-20k invested in their cars.

my e28 (ok, my uncle e28) was bought for RM 5k ...

but the overall repaired and replaced cost almost RM 40k

i will still support you to buy an e28 because i'm from kedah too ... good to have another e28 lover in kedah/perlis

I noticed that most E28 528i advertised to be sold are 1983 and 1984, any newer model, means 1985 onwards?

Hopefully can get it from Northern Region.....else have have to go down...

If you recall 1986-87 there was a bad recession in Malaysia. I have yet to come across a 1985 on e28 525i/528i. The only late model 87/88 e28s you will find are the run out 520iSE model (small bumper) sold by BMW Concess. (IIRC) at that time. And even then these are rare and hard to come by.

I see. So, only can get the 1983-1984 E28 528i.

E28 528i was the car during the early 80's. It's got performance and the car wasn't too big. Most were recond units e.g. my E28 528i was a 1984 car registered in Malaysia in 1986.

Because of the recession then the reconds units were selling better.
