Hi yall...i'm looking for a bbq grill to purchase...went to Giant and the ones they had were crap...Anyone know any good places to look for? i'm looking for either a charcoal or gas grill. thanksfranklin

there is a shop at the basement/car park floor of bangsar village that sells these... if you dun wan the cheap cheap ones.

erm..
can survey to the shop that sells camping stuff..
im often go there,
and i saw that grill been there.. :D

Go to ikano Ace or 1U. There's a hardware shop there but pricey lar. Like those nice US or Australian BBQ sets with Grill & & gas stove. Very cool! Cheapest i believe is Rm1k ++.

Yup, saw few in ACE all high end BBQ grill like alvin mention its expensive. bro, cut the drum into half then put steel mesh on top and build your own stand, value for money and satisfaction unexplainable, muhahahahahaa. eh guys he based in US lar, where got ikano or 1U there, muhahahahahah

Check out the papers - saw an advert that said 50% off for Merdeka sales - gas fired type. Definitely cheaper than Ace Hardware@ Ikano.

Bot mine about 10 years ago for below RM1K from HandiMart. Don't think they do BBQ grills anymore.

The hardware shop in Great Eastern Mall also displays a couple of gas BBQ grills

Mouse bro...US got Giant? kekeke...I guess he's in Malaysia...

best is the one in the parking basement in Bangsar Village like the tealady said it specialises only in BBQ stuff ...some of the BBQ grill they have can run into the tens of thousands...

There is a shop/distributor called BBQ king if not mistaken. They have Australian gas bbq grill. Cheaper than american gas grill and just as functional. But if you are located in usa might as well get webber (sp?). Consumer reports give this american grill top grades. BBQ king has a website. Try to google it and a few of the department store carry their stuff.

If looking for normal charcoal grill then one of the better designed one is the belgium Barbecook range. It is so well designed that is basically hard to mess up your place. Basically the pit is supported by a long hollow shaft with a hollow base. The base and the shaft is detachable. You fill the base with water so to stabilise and give weight to the whole grill. After you are done with the cooking all the ashes get stuff down to the base via the shaft. THe ashes mixes with the water in the base. Then you detach the base and pour everything out.

No mess. good design but pricey.

thanks for all the input....
currently in Msia....was gonna buy a decent one...but dont really want to spend RM1k for a grill that my parents will hardly use...

grills in the US are easy to get so no worries there...and will spend more too as i'll use it more often...

thanks again

Try BBQ King at Bangsar Village. They have a variety of BBQ grills. Price range from RM 300 to ........

Franklin, obviously you need one for use here cause you'd be spoiled for choices back in the States. Moreover with Summer over, they'd have good sales of BBQs stuff on now.
I got mine from Cosco many years back....large family unit, gas, 3 deck grill with hot plate and comes with wheels for about US$280

Franklin, if you have not bought one yet, go to CASH Converters in SEA park PJ. They have a few new LANNMAN Lavarock gas BBQ sets going for less than RM200 each. Superb value for money.
