IU stands for Incar Unit. Its a little cash register that the SG gov install in our blardy ride...when it goes "beep"...you are a dollar or a few dollars poorer. Think of it like something like your SmartTAG that you guys use on the NS H'way. Topping up of Autopass, there are a few method. 1) Just before checkpoint in Woodlands or Tuas (Johor and 2nd link) there is a Autopass topup booth. Just hand over the cash with a SGD 0.50 surcharge and the guys will topup the card for you. 2) All 7-11 islandwide in SG. I know they have a surcharge...but dunno how muchie. Eddie...I will wait for you !! Make sure you show up !! For those JB brudders, before you come out of your house, you may want to use the traffic cams to check the traffic. http://onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotor.../woodlands.html To check for Woodlands traffic condition http://onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotor...amera/tuas.html For 2nd Link Sample of the pic (its in real time) Another thing....traffic police in SG have new toys 1) Laser Cams 2) WRX and Volvo S40 H'way Patrol cars Dun speed....their threshold is 20kmh above limit only. Anything that you exceed...they will book you. Fines starts from SGD 150 onwards. Please don't contribute to the TP "I need higher year end bonus fund". There will be static speedcams on H'way too. This static cams are active ones...not dummies. Dun try them. Look out for hugh blue signboards warning you of the speedcam operation area...and dun follow cars infront of you too close when you are in these areas....idoits are know to jam their brakes and slow down to WAY BELOW SPEED LIMITS at these places.
