yeah good price and with absolute peace of mind instead of repairing, rebuilding and spending time doing the unkwnons and bearings. cant get any better than this...

easy. check out in this site. http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E30/4-doors/Europe/. the best way is to enter your chassis # or VIN and this will tell the exact date and year of manufacture...

for all of M40 after 1987 to 1991, the gearbox for m40 316i/318i use getrag 240.

because it is so cheap and everything is virgin. there is no warranty. but i think it is worth your while and money. i am getting mine!

However a few question for MO organizer

1. is this only for 240/260?. mine is S5D 250G, part number 23 00 1 434 410.

2. Possible to get S6S 420G PtNo: 23 00 2 229 721? E46M3 6spd. Plug n play for E36.

3. How's the logistic gonna be arranged? say if I can self collect in KL/JB...

4. Shipping cost?

PnP to e36? how i wish my e46 also can do the same...

The getrag 240 seem to be used for the M40 and the M20 320i.. So u have to specify which model, best to get the part number...

As for the 6 speed gearbox, u have to get the correct prop shaft to go with the gearbox as the 6 speed box is longer than the Getrag 250....

Ya long shaft gonna change. and with the E46 M, also the clutch and flywheel.

7 years late, but is it still possible to obtain a new Getrag 240? Mine seems to be having an unsolvable 2nd gear grinding.
