Why do they use V8 instead of the current V10?

For the Emission control. All European manufacturers are taking the same step to down size. But dont get it wrong, the newer engine are still as powerful, if not stronger. They rely on other means to produce the same HP, turbo/super chargers

e.g. Audi with their next gen RS4/RS6 all down sizing their engine sizes.

Woooooowwww

Thats a beauty.......indeed!!!!!.......I went to AB Glenmarie yesterday for just look see and was told that the new F10 5 series will be introduced this year in May-June........looking forward for a test drive........a close family friend of mine at AB Glenmarie also said that the new X1 will be a stunner........coming very soon. Saw a M3 coupe ready for delivery...........needed to sit down before viewing more. Going back to the M5, F10......imagine the road tax on this beast.......I am sure it will surpass the RM10k mark.............

I did manage to go for a short drive with my friend on the new facelift X5, 3.0i.......a good family car indeed.

"That direct-injection 4.4 lump is the same engine you'll find under the hood of the X5 M and X6 M, but further tweaked by M Division to liberate more power. Forced induction makes it the first M saloon to be turbocharged."

what!!!!!!!!!0-100 4.4 sec........e60 is 4.5!!!not much different...........

e60 stock was 0-60 in 4.7 sec

Dey, no need to argue about 0-60 time la... We all know that the car would be much much much faster when being tested. For example. The E60 M5 was predicted to be 4.7 seconds but when it's on the track with a professional driver, they get 4.4 and may be lower. So IF they predicted the F10 to be 4.4 seconds, then I think it would go to as low as 4.1 second!!

I also have the new rendering courtesy of M5BOARD.COM. 3..2..1... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Isn't it looks GARANG...

I saw a 3 series trail me this evening as I was exiting Shah Alam.

It look slightly different, the lights looked the same but the kidney grille are wider.

I let him come alongside, I said to my missus, that 3 series looks slightly different.

I let him and then I saw on his tail 523i.

It looks too close.

Saat, the car that you saw earlier was probably an F10 523i. Man I've see one in Ingress Auto but yet to see them on the road.

EDIT: Aaaaaah!!! Another one coming in :driver:

Boring with Silver eh?

for e60 owners, u can get bernard to remap and u can go 0-100 in 4.2 sec.... yahoo..

tested ? or just another claim by a person ?

0-100 is not all about remap, its about tyres, skill , road condition, bla bla.

if someone can do a remap and tell you a 0-100 time then he must be b'sing

problme with the f10 is WEIGHT.

the 535i is as heavy as a E60 m5

Exactly! I am in fact, all other M5 owners are quite concern about this. Desite the extensive use of CF and Aluminium, I still think the weight could be around the E60 M5. Hopefully it might be lighter. As some owners in M5BOARD.COM say that the use of CF and Aluminums will save at least 100-200KG. More weight, means the car needs more power. Now comes another one, handling :s
