Hi guys,I need yr help to identify what is this cylinder thing? Looks like gas cylinder. This morning when I went to exhaust shop, they jacked my car and I saw this thing. It looks like one of the hoses is disconnected to the cylinder.Could expert out there please advise what is this thing. Is it really dangerous to leave the hose disconnected like that? If yes I will go to car shop to get it repaired immediately. Many thanks!!

I believe thats a fuel filter with pressure regulator. Maybe sifus like Jarance can confirm for you.

That's the petrol fuel filter, I presumed the hose linked to fuel tank breather valve

I'm no Jarance but can confirm that that is the fuel filter with fuel pressure regulator. The disconnected hose is from the intake tract to regulate fuel pressure. Disconnected means there will be a vacuum leak in your air intake system and unregulated fuel pressure to the fuel rail.

The picture show the fuel filter with built in pressure regulator. older car have the pressure regulator install at the fuel rail (located under the air intake manifold). As the name suggest, the pressure regulator keep a constant pressure at the fuel rail. excess fuel will be return back to the tank.
your return line hose is broken. get it fix/change as you will loose fuel when over pressure occured.

Funny thing is why one of the nozzle is angled.

Bro aidilj why your cat converter still on your car?

Bro, mine is the older N42 where the cat is on the exhaust manifold

Any difference if change to the old style type bro?

Future fuel filter replacement would be cheaper and allow me to put aftermarket rising rate fuel regulator :) Drawback is that the fuel returned to the tank would be hot since it is from the engine bay

Changed mine from built-in regulator to old style one

Aidilj.

Remove the kidney look stuff too, I gain smoother engine and better FC after I did that.
