anybody experienced this or anyone......appreciate all comments......:top:yesterday while driving back home, my engine suddenly dead.....after a few try cant start the engine.....got rough sound from throttle body while the engine off even i pull off the key.....try to start the car and failed...no warning lights turn out....then i pull-out negative battery terminal then the throttle body stop to produce that rough sound and try start again then can start as usual....after a few kms the engine dead again.....the rough sound came back and i redo previous step....after 2-3 times drive few kms and stop, later on the engine cant start anymore.....worried thing become worse, called tow truck and towed back home as it was 10pm already....later on go minum with fren (not driving this car) till about 1130pm.....when i got home just itchy to try start the car and the engine run well, notice the temperature at blue level already....(car is not overheating when this problem came, temperature as normal in the middle and no warning light at all) today drive another car to work and when i got home try start the car again and seems like nothing happen to her......so what i should do as im scared to drive her out and breakdown while driving......anybody experienced same problem?or any helping hand could lend me the scanner for a while to check the faulty?

Bro jarance and eujinee right on the money...

I checked with other forums and it sound like :
#1 Cam + crank sensors
#2 Failing MAF

#Bonus : She found out ur cheating on her... (explain to her about driving other car should be ok :p)

BTW some of the E46 simple start up diagnostic fix are the "dry solder" on MAF curcit as well as on the cam/crank sensor circuitry... do that first before you replace anything...

bring us back with the joyous news :)

"Dry Solder" on the circuitry... hmmm i heard this from other forum but did not know exactly where to start looking for it... but its on the circuit of the MAF and the Sensors of both items...

"Dry Solder" happens when the electrical circuit is disrupted --> hence the person/mechanic asked you to change ECU, this sensor that sensor... etc etc etc...

Might be of help... but then again ECU reprograming might do the trick...

Ive read that a lot of people change item without positive result... save ur money more... fix whats broken.

m3addict,

changing the valvetronic motor is not a straight forward job.

It involves removing the cylinder head in order to access the servomotor.

It is advisable to send to a specialist workshop to get it done.

No point guessing for the answers here and as what Jarance has suggested, send in your car to a specialist workshop and have it done.

thx all for ur opinion.....
if it need to remove the cylinder head for the job to be done, then need to wait for fund also....
now think just keep at home for a moment.....:2:
