Of course there is a tendency for me to rev it up more, otherwise what's the point of the upgrade? My e46 is a daily driver, came perfect out of the box and never needed any mods. But I don't know how the 2.2l will behave diff than my 2.5l. As for the tranny, mine has clocked more than 200k and does not show any sign of wear, maybe you can get yours checked.
