No other way to get your SatNav working as per BMW original. However, if you already have the AUX-IN, then you can add your DVD player + Garmin GPS inside. So you won't be seeing the GPS as BMW intends you to (i.e. through the right-hand side Navigation menu on the iDrive main menu), but might not be such a bad thing. Garmin maps are much MUCH better than BMW's.
