The information about this is published but I think they require some digging.When I was using Mobil 1 0W-40, it is supposed to feel more like a _W-30 oil at operating temperature, and IIRC, the viscosity is nearer to the lower range of the acceptable range of a 40 weight oil. Also, the 'W' in the rating stands for winter. So in our climate, that rating could be ignored. What you're interested in is the second number, 40 in this case.</blockquote>
