Hi thereany comments on the mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 aka GTO...kinda of thinkin of gettin oneas prices are pretty low for all this old sports cars

To think that we were just discussing this over lunch! Come one ... bite the bullet and go with a 993 Porker instead, la!

You owned and ran this Jap babe for a while when you were in the States so I don't need to say much about what the car is capable of. However, given the rather small market for high performance Jap coupes here, you mite wanna check a little more on parts, spares and upkeep options especially in JB. Have a chat with the guys at Viz for a start .... I'm sure they can handle it. And BTW .... if you get it, I "chope" the 1st taxi-ride and the occasional borrowing for my nite outs!

P/S - The car is actually called the 3000GT outside of Japan ... the GTO being the domestic moniker which has now been adopted worldwide. It's not a VR4 type as the V6 3.0 litre 6G72 is a different engine all together IMO.

seriously thinking of getting it since price is so affordable

the VR4 is the twin turbo version in the states generating 320hp ....the SL 220hp and base model also 220hp

difference between SL and base ...u get all the luxury goodies minus the twin turbo, awd and active aero and active spoiler

Now stop taunting us with your exploits in the US with the GTO, okay ? You're rite, the VR spec of the GTO is the Twin Turbo edition in the US (confusing Yanks!) though it does not get the old VR4 engine from the Galant. There are a few of the so called secret tuning houses in JB that can handle the car ... you just need to get into their inner circle, la! Talk to Jackie .... that's a good place to start.

P/S - Yes, I believe you 100% ... it IS for the wife indeed!

3000GT nice car. my frend has a model with the 99 bodykit in pearl white with 18's. everywhere he drfives, ppl will stare. coz it looks very wide n some ppl r not sure what car it is.

only thing i didnt like bout the engine layout was access to the rear bank was a b**ch.

good car to find 2nd,3rd,4th wife.....

Can you be a bit more specific ? What sorta trouble are you refering to ? Doramon had one back in the US when he was studying so I'm quite sure he's already aware of some of its more common issues / problems.
