Mercedes W211 E240

Yo Guys,Wanna ask your opinion on this car.......my mom is thinking of getting it.....actually heard now their are claring their current stock and there would be no more 240's and replace by 280's with a 3199 cc......any feedback from you guys and girls would be much appreciatedthks

Yes dude...the replacement model going to launch this year...it call E280 (3000cc)

Yup facelifted model gonna be out by sep apparently..............end may the e280 will be out...........but guess 280 a bitt too highlah the cc ....thats why considering the e240's..........

yup of course i would prefer a bmw but my parents are all from the old school of thoughts where they feel that BMW's all Banyak Makan Wang....ha,ha,ha.....which i also disagree........

Hi Nathan,

I'm driving the W211 e240 A/G CKD now after selling my e46 325iSMG. Its been about 5 months already and mileage about 8000 km.

First impression - heavy car and 'lazy'.

After that now getting use to it and enjoying the car. Very comfortable even my wife likes it. We have tested the e60 525 before that. IMO the sound system is also better than the e60.

I think your mom will enjoy driving it. If power not a priority I would recomend it instead of the e60. The e60 with the run-flat tyre is not comparable in term of comfort to the W211 e240.

As for me, I'll drive it for leisure driving. For fast driving I have my Cooper-S to play with.

Thks for the info man...........yup must agree with u the e240 sound system is good but of course i have heard the one in a e60 yet.........

as now the model is gonna be discontinued ...currently wanna negotiate a cheeper price with the sales guys...........

my sales guy is from c&c ampang.......

Yup considered an audi too man....but as mentioned earlier they only seam to prefer merz..........in fact her current car is also a merz w210 E230 model..............

well tonite when i see them for dinner gonna try to sell them the ide of a 5 series again but am sure they will just reject it............

Finally decided for the facelifted e 280....paid the deposit 3 weeks ago......

But then the guys unable to tell me when they can deliver the car.......

Its quiet frustrating to know that the car is already on the roads in UK by June and here were are in M'sia where the launch if the car is delayed.............dunno for wat reason....

I've tested the E240 (2.6). A bit lack of power I guess. Engine tends to scream. Lots of body roll but on the straight very comfortable. I was also considering this car before I ended up with my E39 but if sombody give it to me for free, I'll take it. I haven't tried the 280 (3.0) yet.

i love the looks of the W211..i think it looks very very sexy with a nice AMG or Brabus makeover.engine leaves me wanting though..unless its a big bore AMG engine.all in all,nice car but lower end engine offerings are rather limited in its potential..
so,back to BMW..howzabout a 535i twinturbo with a 6speed stickshift..slurp slurp!!!!
