Hi Ashman55, how did you remove the tray ?

Yup just grip it and pull it out. Ashtrays have to be easy to remove and reinsert as you're meant to empty the ashes from it often.

bmw has big issue when comes to providing enough space for storage. I may take out the ashtray too, hehe.
Where did u guys put your tissue box? I put it at passenge side netting but have to buy a small box. My other 3 series, worse.... no place to put the tissue but since it is use to drive to work alone, i just place it at the passenger seat

Glove compartment for f10 is comfortably big enough for normal size tissue box.i got one inside all the time.while the smart tag and parking card i put in the driver's. Side compartment..

I have wanted to turn my rear ashtray (E46) into a drink holder for my son who always complain of lack (NO) drink holder in my car.

I just buy tissues in small packets, i.e. 10 pcs a pack (extra packs in the boot), I think meant for ladies' handbag? But really saves place, no choice coz not enough space. Boxes are too messy even small ones. If have to, I sometimes use the larger pack ones, packed in plastic rather than in paper boxes. Also use wet wipes which are also useful to remove black streak stains on the windscreen left by the wipers. Also comes in useful when my children want to poo, haha! (bit gross, sorry, but practical lah).

My views, if u arrange things properly and use petite things, you get to put the same things in the BMW as cars with bigger storage compartments. And it is nice to keep small things instead of large tissue boxes. I find that now I keep less rubbish in the car with smaller storage spaces. And less rattling in those small places too. Also, when driving a BMW, must not have too many large things in the car. When the glove box is opened by guests, don't want it to look like the home freezer. Have to be really really neat and tidy, agreed?

my coin holder ;)

For coin holder, I like to use soft, easy-to-open coin purse of sorts (if you can find a black leather / pvc one which is snaps open eg those that come with branded stereo ear plugs, that is just great), so that coins don't rattle, and is easy to take when you need it. I even wrap my T&G smarttag with black cloth leaving window for transmission, so that it doesn't rattle.

Good idea for wet tissue.never think of that...i don't like loose coins due to rattling and secondly they always drop in hard to reach area..coins place for me only at the door's compartment, thats why my gate remote goes into trayless ashtray..

aiya so susah just for few items. Why some other makes can find space and our bimmers can't? Maybe M'sians are like that, likes to keeps lotsa of stuffs for no reason

It is very challenging to be creative with small spaces. Must look cool even for small spaces. When buying things for the F10, have to keep things tiny.

Talking about that, I keep a large tupperware in the boot (tupperware's air tight) - can carry durians without any smell whatsoever (not whole durians lah, just ones in the takeaway boxes).

Also have a large cooler box, where I keep food stuff either hot / cold (depending), if used with ice can carry 4-6 hours no problems food still fresh, and any soup / gravy or other liquid stuff well-contained (almost airtight but not completely). On days that I don't carry food, I use this box to put my laptop inside, keeps cool even under hot sun, no need to bring out when leaving the car in outdoors.

I also have plastic bags at the back pocket - important when having children or children's friends. Imagine cleaning up vomit, eeks! And the smell, will be there for at least 2-3months! In my much earlier car, spilled orange juice (real juice not cordial, wished it was cordial which doesn't stick), and the car stank for 6 months, worse than toilet smell, no joke.

Ya, couldn't agree more on the vomitting part, it will last months no matter what u do especially with fabric seats
