I'm posting this for the benefit of everyone. Some of us here might have other cars at home, apart from the BMW. On Friday 13-3-2009, I purchased a brand new Maintenance Free Century battery (DIN55L) for the use of a Kia Spectra.Location of shop: Kuala LumpurPrice quoted by the shop: RM200 Trade-in old battery: RM12Net price: RM188Warranty: Standard 12 monthsAny of the BMW models using this type of battery? If yes, please list down so that others can read about this :) Just before leaving the shop, I asked the boss "what type of battery does the E36 model use and how much" and he answered me DIN66 and slightly more expensive than the DIN55 (which I presumed at RM220 or RM230). Will be changing the battery of my E36 soon....cheers

Oh no, typo error on the title of the thread itself, battery not battert :p how do i amend it?

That's what I thought, price is quite reasonable. The shop is an authorised dealer for Century car battery. Not sure whats the price for DIN88.

Not really. KL cheaper & many options. Even E46 halfcut is difficult to find. Most things here are supplied by KL distributor.

Russie,

Can you pls PM me the shop address & contact no.

Already PM u the name and address of the shop but couldn't find any phone no. printed on the official receipt. Anyway it's a very "chinaman" shop but a lot of taxi drivers in Klang Valley visit this shop for stuff (battery, alternator, starter, etc).

Bro Russie, quite cheap lor, PM me oso meyy...

I think the battery of my E36 is coming to the end of its life span. Why so? Coz I need to crank relatively longer these few days to start my car. The sound of the cranking sounded like the batter is weak. Anyway, been driving the car since Feb 07 till now...all in 29 months and I have not changed the battery yet. I believe the battery could be more than 3 yrs old as previous owner did not remember when was the last time she changed it.

Went to a nearby car battery shop in Jalan Ipoh (same shop that I bought the Century MF DIN55L) and was quoted RM230 for Century Maintenance Free DIN66 battery. If I trade in my old battery, I get another RM15 off, meaning to say nett price is RM215.

Is this price reasonable?

Might change it tomorrow or on Friday perhaps.

Bro Russie, I think its a reasonable price... good to buy :top:

(1) RM245 for DIN66 MF (Yuasa) - in Seremban
(2) RM300 for DIN66 MF (Century) + b/down service - in Johor
(3) RM215 for DIN66 MF (Century) - in Jln Ipoh, KL

I guess item (3) is considered very reasonable in price. The shop only accept Ca$h, anyone wanna go and get one from the shop? A group buy perhaps (maybe can get good price):-

1) Russie - E36 DIN66 MF
2)
3)
4)
5)
