Was looking for the CRC MAF cleaner mentioned in his post. Checked out ACE hardware but they only have the CRC Contact Cleaner, which if you check on other forums is supposed to work in the same manner. However, after some detailed research on the MSDS sheets of each product I found that they are NOT the same so I didn't want to take the risk.Called up CRC Malaysia and the sales manager was very helpful and directed me to the newly opened Brother's in Ampang. Plenty of MAF Cleaner's there in case anyone else is looking.Process is quite easy as it just required removal of the MAF and just spraying the MAF Cleaner inside the housing and onto the hot wire element. Quite a bit of dirt was flushed out. While doing this I also removed the intake temp sensor (located on the intake manifold just to the right of the throttle sensor) and cleaned that with the MAF Cleaner also. After reinstall the car seems to be smoother and it has eliminated a small flat spot around the 2k-3k rpm range. Throttle response has also improved. Not sure if there's anymore power (how to measure objectively????.....) but I would definitely recommend this as its quite easy to do.I'm waiting to find out if this improves the hot weather driveability of my car as it struggles a bit when the engine bay is really hot but so far so good.
