Just returned my E90 to SC again this morning for warranty repair.. Maybe can get back the car tomorrow (Sat) if lucky.. or else I'll be one leg short by Monday.. :( As for the OBC reset after oil change, its simple mathematics ma... our OBC is a just a mileage counter which "intelligently" count down the mileage to next service taking into consideration of the driving habit, acceleration and deceleration pattern of the car to determine the aggressiveness of the driver. If aggressive, then count down faster loo.. :D SC can set the require mileage till next service, say 10k, 25k or even 35k. Then the OBC will take over to factor in the above algorithm for the count down, so you will end up plus or minus depending on the driving habit. For intermediate oil top up or oil change, we should not disturb the OBC and should let the existing countdown to continue... unless you want to extend that countdown by another 5k to 10k which I don't think is advisable. For example, my OBC say to do oil change at 30k km.. I will do intermediate oil change at 5k, 13k and 21k and finally the BSRI 30k km, then only OBC should be reset. Like wise, you can demand SC to set the OBC to count down for 8k km, if that's what u prefer rather than the "standard" +/-25k km but if the car is under BSRI, they won't be that stupid la.
