My second phase of the e39 project is lowering the car. Is it better to go with the MTech lowering spring and suspension or with others like Eibach spring and other suspension or the H&R lowering set.Any advise or recommendation.

MTech is damn hard to get, H&R is good enough.

Coilover is the rock!

Thanks bmw7833. I am a bit confused wether coilover is the suspension or is it something else. How much lower will H&R be compare to stock.

That is what i read when i plan to lower my car before.

This is coilover. Sexy is't?

our friend Bazet is using Drag n Drift coilovers on his 39..try PM him..

DnD is cheap. But you have to sacrifice the ride comfort. Especially on our bumpy Malaysian expressway. (e.g: LPT).

If your driving style is not too agresive, i think H&R sport spring is good enuf

Bro how much is DnD and how is it in ride height and comfort in comparison with Bilstein B12?

Cheers.

seewai,

DnD with installation - RM3050.

I never tried B12, so i couldn't say much about it. Previously, i had B8 on my ride.

Ride height - you can adjust the height according to your preference.

Comfort - i'd say if you want comfort, stay away from DnD. IMHO, B8 is much more comfort than DnD.

What's you suspension setup now?

Bro zun,

My ride is on old-batch B12 setup, ie B8 + eibach lowering springs.
Current B12 has Sportline and Pro-kit options. I'm not sure which one my setup belong to.
New set of B12 should cost at least RM4k.

Cheers.

I think I will opt for H&R lowered spring as I am also seeking for comfort. Also I am not a aggressive driver. Which is the best suspension to go with th H&R spring? Is Eibach better then H&R?

IMHO,H &R does look more aggressive than eibach on 39. i'm using eibach currently and i've compared to Anak Siam's ride with H&R..u will get a more lowered look especially at the rear..its about 1 finger gap compared to eibach 2 fingers gap..

want low.. want soft .. want agressive.. want cheap .. want boobies.. where to find?? aiyo...

i must say my previous E39 was one of my pride in suspension setup and i cannot remember how many members her actually bought a E39 because of that. still people want to spend ridiculous money for stuffs like tein, eibach.. not to mention hwl and some others..

the original spring is made perfect for our roads. just need to lower the spring retainer position to match. and a slightly firmer setup for front. rear.. can drop 35-40mm by doing the same. and u have a perfect daily drive that youcan still show off and u can fixed that lop sided problem with every E39. Just ask for richard.. and a little time for fine tuning..

i cannot remember how many koni's and bilstein beign sold after few months because the owners came across titans .. that must be something positive..

i do agree however hnr are superb springs.. if you have got Rm1000 extra to burn... but eibach?? errrr.. i have got a front pair for 300 bucks if anyone wants it.

Guys, those who are looking to lower the E39's why don't give RCS a try......... i am using their set up so far overall its ok just teething issues but after fine tune up's its all good.
Looks aggressive not too low not to high handles very well at corners braking has improved for me, as i travel daily from Sri Damansara to Cyberjaya using the Max Highway coming to 2 years on RCS feels good. Contact Clayton or Nanda @ RCS Sunway.

Cheers

Using hotbits coilovers on my e39 on a slightly softer setting. No regrets so far. Ride is firm without being too uncomfortable even with upgraded ARBs.
