we have long list of who has e39 roll callis there anyone who has managed to lower the ridebut maintained e39 comfortso many are talking about slamming down- like that of cromok's e39 last week - will someonepls share their experiencei did a search on this topic and came across one LKW3 threadhe changed to bilstein and eibachand got only one word to describe the experience - "ALAMAK"he did not expect it to be so stiff

azman818,

My ride is lowered with Bilstein PSS9 coilovers. I was on Sachs before that. The ride on Bilstein is defintely firmer but not bone jarring sort. I got used to it pretty fast. Now I can take corners with much confidence and the car remains composed and flat..

go for the m sports setting more comfort compare with the eibach+bilstien setting but not so low

uno, your e39 w/full M5 kit surely deserve the PSS9.

mine is stock and ferries my grandparents cross-country malaysia
(they want comfort but they don't mind a little lowered sporty look)

you mentioned Sachs before the PSS9. are the Sachs any good?

will the Sachs work well with stock shocks and std 16" turbine rims?

tkew, how to get m-sport setting with this stock std e39?
do i have to change the whole works under the car?

Sachs performance is OK. If you want comfort, then it is great but Bilstein PSS9 is better for more spirited driving.. :D

Guys

Any idea how much it will cost for M sport Springs and absorders? How much lower will the car sit from std? 1 or 2 inches?

Hi Azman... Seeing your comment by my post makes me laugh while thinking back. Well, got used to the stiffness already. But the car a bit too low. Had hit the undercarriage few times when crossing humps.

Got quote from Bavarian Auto for the M spec absorber (the one on the 525 M spec). Apparantly, there are two type (dont know what's the difference, maybe someone can shed some light on this) RM1k+ for the front pair and RM9++ for the rear (not inclusive of springs). The other type which is cheaper is out of stock

yoke bro,im looking for spring only...absorber change Blistein(black) alr enough...
do yoke bro got m-spec spring parts number?

Spring forgot to ask?? but you can just give them a call to get some quote.

I'm thinking of changing to the M Spec absorber and spring, but need to find out more on why there are two different version and what is the differences between the two.
