[QUOTE="finally, post: 20962, member: 18559"] Hello to all sifus & bros. Both my rear lights are leaking in rain water! I have shorted 4 bulbs in as many days because of the current rainy spell. My e39 is pre facelift with ori amber lights. Body workshop(not mechie) said he can 'try' to fix but no promises! He mumbled something about glueing something & that we can still remove the light cluster for service. My questions.1) Is this the usual $ saving way?2)will mechie have a better way eg. purchase of gaskets?3)Or just bite the bullet and facelift the tail lights? And will this solve the problem? Because it could be that the metal has distorted (1996 e39)The driver side is quite bad, after heavy rain, can see water on the wires & a small puddle in the space next to the battery. Also water in the bulb holes in the light cluster.I can don't drive the car in rainy weather but this is hardly the solution!!Thanks in advance for all replies.
